VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT

POSITION SUMMARY: RESOURCE is seeking a professional to guide our major donor program and capital campaigns. The successful candidate will join a strong multicultural team of RESOURCE employees who are dedicated to addressing the employment and training, chemical health and mental health needs of our community. A passion for improving the social, personal and economic status of others is essential for this position. The Vice President of Development reports to the President of RESOURCE.

The Vice President of Development will
· Manage the individual donor program and planned giving programs of RESOURCE.
· Coordinate agency-wide capital campaigns.
· Oversee the development activities of three RESOURCE centers.
· Supervise the activities of the Development Director, additional proposal writers and the volunteer coordinator.
· Coordinate approaches, information with the development team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage the Discover RESOURCE information program.
· Manage the individual donor program, including the annual fundraising event and donor appreciation events.
· Institute planned giving approaches.
· Coordinate RESOURCE’s capital campaigns, coordinating with the President, Board of Directors, campaign consultants and campaign committees. Campaign oversight includes recruitment of the campaign committee, case statement development and management of committees and schedules.
· Supervise the Development Director, coordinating the proposal development process for three divisions.
· Supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator.
· Identify and supervise contract grant writing personnel.
· Positively represent RESOURCE to public, foundation and corporate funding partners and individual donors.
Actively participate in agency mission, plans and activities to undo racism and promote diversity.
Actively participate as a member of the RESOURCE management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of four years writing successful grants.
· Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices and principles.
· Two years of supervisory experience.
· Two years of experience managing an individual donor program. Knowledge of the Benevon approach preferred.
· Experience managing a planned giving program.
· Two years of experience managing capital campaigns.
· Knowledge of human service needs and approaches in the areas of employment and training, mental health and chemical health.
· Knowledge of and ability to apply marketing concepts.
· Possess clear, compelling writing style.
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Thorough, organized, detail oriented and meets deadlines.
· Excellent planning, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills required.
· Skilled in use of Microsoft Office and donor management software.
· Self motivated and excellent initiative.
· Access to transportation for meetings at a variety of sites in the metro area, St. Cloud and Duluth.

SALARY RANGE: DOQ

BENEFITS INCLUDE: 3 weeks vacation, 10 sick days, 10 holidays, medical, dental, life and LTD insurance, and 401(k). Free parking.
