SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Transitional Housing Monitor (Male Urinalysis and Monitoring)

14 hours per week
SCHEDULE: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday late evening & early morning hours (typical schedule 11:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., but must be open to flexible hours)

With the supervision of the Client Services Supervisor- Housing & Employment and in a supportive role to the RRC Transitional Sober Housing, the support specialist- Transitional Sober Housing Monitor is responsible for assisting with the operation of sober transitional housing buildings as well as providing urinalysis services to RRC clients. The position also consists of physical labor, basic maintenance/janitorial, security, safety, cleanliness of properties, and on-call availability. This position requires taking observed urinalysis from male residents; therefore a male candidate for this position is required. This position also requires ability to handle emergency and crisis situations that may occur in the transitional housing.
RESPONSIBILITIES

· Respond to client questions, issues, and emergencies/ crisis situations.
· Respond all calls/ issues received by the RRC Emergency Phone.
· Nightly apartment checks and building monitoring to ensure the safety and sober housing living environment.
· Ensure transitional housing rules are followed and maintained.
· Conduct random urinalysis and breathalyzers to ensure sober environment.
· Documentation of all client encounters and interactions.
· Complete Incident reports and additional documentation for client issues.
· Carry an RRC monitoring phone during scheduled hours.
· Ensure the safety, cleanliness, and recovery environment of RRC Transitional Housing.
· Monitor and assure building cleanliness and upkeep.
· Conduct light maintenance as requested.
· Present a positive image of all RRC Programs and Services.
· Available and on-call for house emergencies.
· Maintain active communication with all RRC staff to perform housing responsibilities.
· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
· This position requires taking observed urinalysis from male residents; therefore a male candidate for this position is required.
· Minimum 2-year experience working with individuals experiencing chemical dependency problems. (Required)
· Minimum of one- year freedom from alcohol and chemical abuse/ addiction. (Required)
· Ability to be on-call to come in to RRC transitional housing when called for assistance by Client Services Supervisor- Housing or Division Director. (Required)
· Experience working in a similar housing setting (Preferred)
· Experience and skills with performing maintenance (Preferred)
· Understanding of diversity and ability to work effectively in a diverse service environment. (Required)
· Demonstrated Capacity to maintain accurate documentation and records & Computer competency. (Required)
· Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. (Required)
· Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license with insurance (Required)
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds in order to perform work responsibilities.(Required)

STARTING SALARY RANGE: Depending on Qualifications

Benefits: This position is a part-time, temporary hourly position for fourteen (14) hours per week. No benefits.
