Location:         1826 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis MN – Building Resilient Families

Overview: Building Resilient Families is a family residential treatment facility serving pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women with children in their care ages 0-17. The Family Treatment Clinician is responsible for delivery of treatment services to the mothers, children, and family to include clinical treatment counseling and clinical case management to (8-10) women and families.  This position will be directly supervised by the Program Director- Building Resilient Families. Tentative Schedule:  Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00pm.  Flexibility is required to meet the needs of families in the program.  PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary position.  This position is projected to last 2-3 months depending on program needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the philosophy and model of Building Resilient Families.
  • Maintain a caseload of 8-10 women.
  • Provide CD counseling and residential family treatment services to families of various cultural backgrounds, in group and individual settings.
  • Maintain and update clients’ charts according to Rule-31.
  • Assist in meeting program goals and objectives.
  • Provide consultation and presentations to other professionals and organizations.
  • Maintain confidential client records and collect information for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in all internal and external activities required as stated in program contracts.
  • Screen and assess individuals/families referred to RRC for intake to establish appropriateness and/or eligibility for program.  Assess individual/ family’s stability and level of service need in the recovery process
  • Provide culturally-responsive care to families served with specialty in services including African American and multi-racial families
  • Assess family needs and make appropriate treatment plan goals and objectives.
  • Provide chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders treatment through clinical case management and counseling techniques that meet professional and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Record necessary documentation of work with client – case note each contact.
  • Provide public relations and outreach to various community agencies as requested
  • Implement identified evidence-based curricula (Helping Women Recover, A Woman’s way through the Twelve Steps, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety).
  • Participate actively in data collection and evaluation efforts.
  • Participate in the RRC motivational interviewing initiative.
  • Conduct urinalysis.
  • Participate in staff development and training, including all required rule 31 training.
  • Support and provide leadership in Resource, Inc.’s Undoing Racism and Promoting Diversity Initiatives.
  • Comply with professional standards of MN 4747.1400 and meet requirements of rule 31 and related rules and statutes.
  • Attend all meetings and staffing as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • (Required)Must be licensed (LADC) with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health Professionals (BBHT) as a chemical dependency counselor.
  • Demonstrated competency, training, and/or experience in dual diagnosis/ co-occurring chemical and mental health issues, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to pass/ clear DHS Background Study
  • Competence in trauma informed care, evidence based practices (motivational interviewing), and family treatment.
  • Experience and/or training in delivering treatment services in group, family, and individual format.
  • A minimum of 2 years freedom from chemical use problems and ability to remain free from chemical use problems as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to work as a team member with coworkers and referral sources.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds preferred.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with parole/probation referrals, hospitals, Child protection, county social workers, and other key stakeholders.
