Dislocated Worker Program
Location: Minneapolis or St. Louis Park
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide individual and/or group services to participants to assist in the attainment of individual employment goals including career/personal counseling, career assessment, test interpretation, and workshop facilitation.
· Assist participants to determine if additional training is appropriate for their job goals, and research institution and job placement rates for training programs.
· Must maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.
· Maintain current information on job market trends and job possibilities.
· Provide individual and group job development and placement services including assistance in filling out job applications, resume writing, teach interviewing skills providing information about job leads and making referral to job openings.
· Travel within metro area as required.
· Adhere to and actively participate in organization’s policies to undoing racism.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors Degree preferred – will accept relevant experience.
· One year experience in vocational assessment and career counseling.
· One year experience in interpreting vocational tests.
· Working knowledge of current labor market opportunities and trends.
· Experience writing, reviewing and revising resumes, applications and cover letters.
· Attention to detail and ability to complete required paperwork.
· Demonstrated experience in placing people in jobs.
· Knowledge of occupational requirements.
· Experience in group facilitation.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
· Strong written and communication skills, and computer skills.
· Must be capable of independent travel.
