BUSINESS LIAISON (Placement Specialist)

Program: EAC/ Ramsey County Workforce Solutions (WFS) Welfare to Work Programs

Location: Downtown and North St. Paul WFS Offices

POSITION SUMMARY: Market program services and establish cooperative partnerships with metro area employers. Coordinate placement efforts across programs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with MFIP participants referred by employment counselors for job development assistance.
· Establish long term and effective relationships with metro area employers to promote hiring and internship opportunities for MFIP program participants.
· Positively represent the agency at community job fairs and Chamber of Commerce meetings. Educate employers about EAC/Ramsey County WFS services.
· Facilitate applicant orientations and workshops and pre screen potential applicants according to employer specifications. Monitor and track hiring results.
· Serve as a liaison and provide advocacy services to employers.
· Help job seekers to address employment readiness barriers (i.e. transportation, interview clothing, etc.).
· Arrange for job seekers to participate in informational and mock interviews, company tours, job shadows and employer networking opportunities.
· Maintain current labor market information and communicate to staff and clients.
· Participate in Employment Skills Trainer Meetings.
· Maintain employer files; submit reporting forms and other data as required by program guidelines, EAC/Ramsey County.
· Prepare letters, flyers, brochures and informational packets for distribution.
· Actively participate in Resource Inc.’s Undoing Racism Plan and participate in scheduled staff & agency meetings.
· Travel throughout metro area 40% of workday or as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS/BA degree strongly preferred.
· 2 years experience in direct placement, job development, marketing and sales required.
· Knowledge of local labor market.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Desire to work with persons of diverse cultural, economic & education backgrounds.
· Able to travel independently throughout twin city metro area and posses valid drivers license and insurance.
· Able to work independently with little supervision, strong time management skills.
· Competency in MS Office Suites, e-mail and Internet.
· Facilitation and presentation skills and/or experience required.

SALARY: $32,000.
